Years ago I read Yukio Mishima's Confessions of a Mask. Mishima led the dual life of a hetero marriage while pursuing his gay life quietly elsewhere.
That's not my story. Regardless, we all have things we keenly keep quiet, most of this keeping driven by fear and knowing how fair many people are. Much of this driven by believing we are the only ones who understand those things. And by how confused and touched we are ourselves.
